Poetry Competition
21st Century Thame have been visiting the local primary schools, delivering an assembly on how to care for hedgehogs and then doing a poetry workshop with the children in line with the KS1 and KS2 curriculum. The children wrote some amazing poems and we can’t wait to show them off at this event. Children are also allowed to drop off their individual poem to the Thame Town Hall or on the day at 1pm. It is going to be a tough job for Catherine Jones to judge these mini authors and poets, an author herself who writes fantastic fiction novels. The prizes are some Usbourne books donated kindly by Adroit Services www.adroit.services and there will be some special little hedgehog surprises!
Baking Competition
The baking competition is for those budding bakers, young and old, to be judged by a food technology teacher and prizes donated by Pro Ware and Rumsey’s of Thame. Bring in your best nature or hedgehog inspired bake on the day, it could be biscuits, cakes, or any type of bread.
Art Competition
There has been a lot of art on display over the Thame Art Trail and it is lovely to see such talented artists in the local area. There is also an opportunity for artists to put their nature inspired or hedgehog theme art into the Hogfest art competition. The work will be displayed on the day and judged by X prizes kindly donated by Little Woodlands, Mads and Moodle and Wally’s Toy Shop
21st Century would like to thank the businesses of Thame and the local businesses that have come together on this event and donated amazing prizes for our raffle. The kind donations will help gather interest to the event and help bring the local community together. On the day any money donated to the Hogfest event will go towards helping the survival of hedgehogs and turning Thame into a wildlife friendly town.
