The Thame Grow Your Own Food workshop yesterday with Tom Knowles at his Village Farm was wonderful.
We had lovely weather for it, and all the participants got to muck in and create a no dig bed using cardboard as the base layer, with compost piled on top.
Tom explained how to plant broad beans and garlic, and answered the many enthusiastic questions from the attendees.
Everyone left smiling from a fresh day outdoors, with more knowledge of how to grow food and from the friendly and easy company of others who are also interested in gardening.
The tea and biscuits also helped ![]()
Huge thanks to Tom for his time and for everyone who attended.
Thanks also to South Oxfordshire District Council that sponsored this project.
We hope to run more of these events in the future. We’ll post in local groups and on our newsletter to announce them once they’re confirmed.
