Introducing our new plant-and-adopt flowerbed scheme in collaboration with Thame Town Council

Do you want a garden space to call your own? Maybe you live in a flat and would love to do some gardening, or maybe you have a garden but want to learn as you go with full support from more experienced gardeners.

Introducing our new plant-and-adopt flowerbed scheme in collaboration with Thame Town Council!

We are grateful to have TTC funding for two new flowerbeds which will contain perennial plants (ones that last year on year) and bulbs. These will be on North Street, in the long green space in front of the Cattlemarket.

We’re looking for two families or individuals who would like to plant a bed each and look after it for around 30 minutes a week, this summer and next. The beds are already designed, the plants will be ordered for you and we will help you with planting them and learning how to care for them. Experienced gardeners wanting to take on a bed are welcome too – we can be hands-off if you already have green fingers! The photos are from the pollinator-friendly perennial bed we started in the memorial garden 12 months ago and we hope you are enjoying it across the seasons.

Drop us a FB or IG message or email us at [email protected] and let us know a little bit about you and why you’d like to take on the bed. Please note our emails come back from the team’s personal addresses so keep an eye on spam.

Please note, we are always very keen for children to be involved in our projects but the beds are near to a busy road and car park exits, so it wouldn’t be suitable if your children are not yet road-aware. We can help you sort out holiday cross-cover but if you are away more than average in the summer then this wouldn’t be suitable for you. We have adopt-a-hedge and adopt-a-tree schemes active across Thame so we are always looking for more tree guardians too!
