We love all our volunteers, but (sun)hats off to today’s team of hedge heroes for lasting out in this scorching weather. They were busy reducing competition for light and water in the Skate Park hedge and identifying spaces where some extra trees are needed, which we will plant with St Joseph’s children shortly. They trimmed back hedge trees which were getting too ‘leggy’ to help the hedge fill out thickly. They also braved the nettles, pulling these up to get it nice and clear ready for the children, and watered the newest hedge.
It was lovely to see so many bees and butterflies out enjoying the flowering plants in the hedge so we left as many in as we could.

We have Weekly Weed and Water mornings coming up on Thu 26th June, Fri 4th July, Mon 7th July and Fri 18th July.
