The City Nature Challenge is a global event where people work together to record as many wild plants, animals, and fungi as possible in their local area. Participation is free, easy, and fun, contributing to science and conservation efforts!
How to Get Involved: Download the iNaturalist app or visit uk.inaturalist.org to create an account.
- Take a picture of everything you find.
- Be sure to note the location although iNaturalist should do this for you.
- Upload your findings by sharing photos and observations of local wildlife.
- Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or just curious about wildlife.
Last year, the 2025 City Nature Challenge saw 3,310,131 observations across 73,765 species, with 102,945 participants globally.
Berkshire and Oxfordshire contributed 3,096 observations.
We can’t wait to see what everyone discovers!
