Hedge planting at Brill November 2020

The UK needs millions more trees to reach its 2050 carbon net-zero target. Today we helped plant 20.

In March 2020 Sue Martin-Downhill, Chair of 21st Century Thame and lead on the #ThameTrees project, applied to the Woodland Trust for some trees for Thame and it’s surrounding villages.

We were successful and 420 trees arrived.

Today we planted 20 of them up at Brill with the help of 2 Duke of Edinburgh scheme students and 3 members of 21st Century Thame : Laura and Sonja.

Already 30 of the whips have been taken by residents of Thame to plant into pots and nurture so that they will be big enough to plant in more commonly frequented areas.

What a beautiful day and a great way to spend a few Sunday hours.

Notice the social distancing adhered to at all times.
