King’s Coronation Oak planted at Churchill Crescent park

#ThameTrees have been very pleased to work with the Thame Town Council to plant an oak at Churchill Crescent park in Thame in celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III.

The English Oak was planted on Friday 23rd June 2023 and marks the start of planting more trees on the park to provide more shade for the future hot summers.

A number of the residents that live around the park have kindly offered to help keep the new tree watered through the drought months and one couple has even gone so far as to replace their water butt with a larger one.

If you live near any of the recent tree plantings – Churchill Crescent play area, Queen Elizabeth Circle Recreation Ground, Howland Road (outside Lucy Electric) or Hamilton Road – and would like to get involved in nurturing this new plants for the first couple of years after planting then please do get in touch with [email protected].

We are offering the installation of free Water Butts to neighbouring residents in order to harvest water to keep the trees healthy.

We also arrange small parties of volunteers to maintain the grass around the trees – if you would like to get involved in this aspect please do contact us aswell.
