Lucy Electric Sponsors 21st Century Thame for the 5th Year in a Row

Lucy Electric have kindly sponsored 21st Century Thame for the fifth year in a row. This year’s sponsorship is focused on educational activities; and it will enable us to work on projects designed to provide education about sustainability in the schools of Thame and deliver educational workshops as part of our various local bio-diversity projects. We’re delighted to have this focus, as education is a critical component in changing people’s behaviours and attitudes when it comes to climate change.

This isn’t the first collaboration between Lucy Electric, 21st Century Thame and our local schools. Some of the projects that we’ve worked on together in the past include:

  • Lucy Electric’s Leadership Team Built a Sensory Garden at John Hampden School
  • Lucy Electric bought John Hampden School four bee homes, two bird boxes and a bird table
  • 10 volunteers from Lucy Electric spent half a day removing an old broken green house, clearing overgrown vegetation, weeding, and building two amazing bug hotels for John Hampden School
  • Lucy Electric also supplied bird boxes to St Joseph’s Primary school and Lord Williams’s Upper School
  • A bird box with a wifi camera is being installed soon at Barley Hill Primary School provided by Lucy Electric

Outside of the collaborative work that we’ve done together, Lucy Electric has run their own projects with John Hampden, and they’ve expanded the work they do with schools, to India where they have another site.

We love to see this work travel across the globe!

We’re excited to continue our collaboration with Lucy Electric this year and to grow the impact that we will have together on Thame’s local environment.
